HAVANA: AIRPORT – ACCOMODATION

DAY 2
HAVANA – VIÑALES (PINAR DEL RIO, 210 km)
The tour begins in Old Havana. Let’s wander around the streets to discover the best cultural and heritage attractions.
In the afternoon, we take a 210-kilometer trip to Pinar del Río, the westernmost province of Cuba. Accommodation in Viñales, located in the Sierra de los Órganos. It is one of the most visited natural areas in Cuba, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

DAY 3
VIÑALES
In this western tourist town, the tour includes canopying in the community El Fortín, a stop at Los Jazmines Viewpoint, a descent to the town of Viñales, a visit to the Prehistory Mural, the Palenque de los Cimarrones (a refuge for runaway slaves), and the Indian Cave (Cueva del Indio), a wonderful site located on the banks of the San Vicente River. This cave provided shelter to the first inhabitants of these lands. You can see cave drawings and enjoy the local nature and beauty of the landscape with the formation of stalactites and stalagmites.
DAY 4
VIÑALES – CAYO LEVISA – LAS TERRAZAS (135 km)

DAY 6
LAS TERRAZAS – CIENFUEGOS – TRINIDAD (450 km)
The tour departs from Pinar del Rïo to the central provinces of Cuba. In particular, Cienfuegos, known as the Pearl of the South. We will take a walking tour of the city center. The tour also includes a visit to the Botanical Garden of Cienfuegos, founded in the 19th century before arriving at the ancient city of Trinidad in Sancti Spíritus, where you will spend the following nights.
The city of Trinidad is located in the central region of Cuba. Trinidad was the third Village founded by the Spanish Crown on the island. It became one of the most prosperous villages of its time around the business of the sugar industry. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988, Trinidad is currently one of the best preserved colonial cities in Latin America.
DAY 7
TRINIDAD & SIERRA ESCAMBRAY (70 km)
Departure in the morning for Topes de Collantes nature reserve in the Sierra del Escambray accompanied by a guide specialized in nature tourism.
You will also be able to see the natural beauties of the Guanayara Park. Return to Trinidad. Rest of the afternoon free.
One of the old city main attractions is to visit the popular bar La Canchánchara. Here you can taste a typical cocktail from Trinidad, consisting of honey, lemon and “aguardiente” that was created during the 10 Years War of Cuban independence.
DAY 8
TRINIDAD – SANCTI SPIRITUS (75 km)
In this 75-kilometer trip, travelers can visit the Valley of the Sugar Mills (Valle de los Ingenios). It has 65 archaeological sites, including 13 plantation houses, some of which still have their boilers, towers, industrial systems of the time and remains of sugar production from the eighteenth to the nineteenth centuries. This tour includes the visit to the old Manacas Iznaga Sugar Mill.
Another interesting option in this trip is the tour to Banao – La Sabina.
Visitors will rest one night in Sancti Spíritus in the accommodation of their choice.
DAY 9
SANCTI SPIRITUS – CAMAGUEY – BAYAMO (430 km)
A 430 -kilometer trip from the province of Sancti Spíritus to the historic city of Bayamo in Granma, passing through Camagüey. The tour includes several stops at tourist sites of natural, historical and cultural interest.

DAY 10
BAYAMO – SIERRA MAESTRA – BAYAMO (160 km)
Trip to one of the natural wonders of eastern Cuba: the Sierra Maestra, a setting for the armed struggle against Batista’s government. Fidel Castro and other young people resisted repression from these mountains until they achieved triumph and came to power.
One of the essential points of this tour is the visit to La Plata Headquarters. From there the forces of Fidel and Ernesto Guevara had important combats against the government in the years 1957 – 1958.
DAY 11
BAYAMO – EL SALTÓN – SANTIAGO DE CUBA (220 km)
The tour covers over 200 kilometers that separate the cities of Bayamo and Santiago de Cuba, passing through important sites from a natural, historical and religious point of view. For this reason, this tour includes the visit to the III Oriental Front and the visit to the Church of the Charity of Cobre, the patroness of Cuba.

DAY 12
SANTIAGO DE CUBA
The tour of the city of Santiago de Cuba, the second most important in the country, includes in the morning a walking tour around the historic center and in the afternoon with transportation.
These tours will include visits to the Museum “Casa Diego Velazquez”, the oldest standing house in the country and possibly in Latin America. The house was the residence of the well-known Iberian conquistador.
The tour will also allow entry to the Fernando Ortiz African Art Center, the Cuartel Moncada Museum (Moncada Barracks), and the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery, the resting place of prominent figures such as Fidel Castro, José Martí, and Emilio Bacardi.
This tour ends with the “Cañonazo” ceremony (cannon firing ceremony) at the Castillo del Morro de Santiago de Cuba.
DAY 13
SANTIAGO – GRAN PIEDRA – SANTIAGO (55 km)
This day promises an unforgettable trip from the city of Santiago to La Gran Piedra (The Great Stone). The Great Stone is a huge block of volcanic rock and measures 51 meters long, 25 high and 30 wide. It is estimated to weight over 63,000 tons. It is possible to climb the 459 stone steps to the top of the rock and stand at 1,234 meters above sea level to enjoy a panoramic view. It is said that on a dark night it is possible to see the lights of Jamaica. And on clear days and good visibility you can see both coasts of the eastern region.
